Remove water & dust from your speaker
Press play and a calibrated low-frequency tone vibrates your speaker, pushing trapped moisture and dust out through the grille. Free, no app, no sign-up.
What is FxSpeaker?
FxSpeaker is a browser-based tool that generates a low-frequency tone through your deviceβs speaker. The tone makes the speaker diaphragm move rapidly, creating pressure waves that push trapped water droplets out through the mesh. Apple uses the same principle in the Apple Watch water-eject feature.
It also helps loosen dust and lint that slowly build up in speaker grilles, which is a common reason phones sound quieter or duller over time.
Why sound waves push water out
Water behind the speaker mesh sticks to the diaphragm through surface tension and dampens its movement, so audio sounds muffled. A tone near 165 Hz sits close to the resonant frequency of many phone speakers, where the diaphragm moves the farthest. That larger movement creates enough pressure to overcome surface tension and force droplets through the mesh.
How to use it in 5 steps
- Open this page on the affected device. The sound must play through the wet speaker.
- Turn volume to maximum. Stronger vibration pushes out more water.
- Pick a mode. Continuous suits most cases, Pulse breaks stubborn droplets, Sweep helps tablets and laptops.
- Face the speaker downward and tap Start cleaning for 10β15 seconds.
- Wipe and repeat. Dab the grille with a soft cloth, then run up to three sessions and check with the Balance Test.
Works on any device
Phones
iPhone and Android. Point the bottom speaker down. Run it again for the earpiece speaker.
Tablets & laptops
Try the 300 Hz preset or Sweep mode, since larger speakers resonate differently.
Earbuds & speakers
Connect by Bluetooth, make sure audio routes to them, and keep the grille facing down.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe for my speaker?
Yes. The tool uses 165β800 Hz, a range your speaker handles every day for music and calls. Just avoid running it for hours. A few 15-second sessions is enough.
How long does it take?
Most people hear an improvement within 10β15 seconds. After full submersion you may need 2β3 sessions.
Does it remove dust too?
Yes. The vibration loosens lint and dust from the mesh. You will usually notice clearer, louder sound.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser using the Web Audio API, with no downloads, permissions or accounts.
Is it really free?
Yes, every tool is free with no limits. See our pricing page.
